Roberto Burle Marx was a Brazilian architect as well as a landscape
artist, painter, print maker, ecologist, musician and stage designer.
Arguably his best work, and the inspiration for this collection, are the
sidewalks of Copacabana which he designed in the 70's inspired by the traditional Portuguese pavements of the 1500's.
The organic mosaics of black and white stones that contour the
beaches of Rio are one of the city's most prominent symbols.
The 'COPA' series celebrates Brazilian design and the allure of the
70's aesthetics together with Portuguese tradition.
